HEYYYYYYYY and welcome to my late catch-up of Anime-mas, here is the anime for day 4. We will be back on track soon.

The anime we are focusing on is Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, or in English, Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun, made by Doga Kobo, who also made the last anime I reviewed, Himouto Umaru-chan, which you can see here.

In this Japanese cartoon, we follow Sakura Chiyo, a schoolgirl who is about to confess her feelings, oh yeah by the way, we back with the romcoms, to the guy she likes, Umetarou Nozaki. But, when it’s the heat of the moment… she wusses out and instead gets his autograph.

You know what, there are many main characters to describe that someone did it for me, thanks whoever this is on tumblr (source):

So basically the story goes, after Chiyo tries and fails to confess her feelings to Nozaki, she finds out that Nozaki is actually a well-known author of a romance shoujo manga series. So she then becomes his assistant and hopes that Nozaki will see her feelings about him.

This anime is really silly and it’s a good one to laugh at. The development of the characters and how they act is great like how Chiyo overthinks things such as who is this editor Nozaki hangs out with, is it a beautiful girl that she’ll get jealous over, and then finds out it’s some boring old fat guy.

The opening… holy god it’s good. Have a listen:

So in conclusion, if you like a very goofy slice-of-life anime with romance elements, here’s a good one for you.
