It’s finally the weekend and welcome to day 6 of the 30 Day Anime Challenge on the Alfredeo blog! If you happen to be new to this, I am discussing each topic from the picture above on their respective days for one month. As you can see, some of the topic are pretty interesting like “saddest anime scene” and “favorite quote from a character” so this has been a fun challenge to do.
Today is day 6 so I’ll be discussing an anime show that I want to see but I haven’t gotten to do so yet. This post will be fairly short since I’m just going to tell you what my choice anime is about and predictions. Also, this is opinion based. If you think the show that I picked is absolute trash, don’t even bother commenting. Instead, just comment down below an anime show that you want to watch in the future. I would love to see your choice. Thanks!
If you have been following the blog for a bit, you would know that my favorite genres of anime are romance, music, comedy, drama and slice-of-life.
But let’s focus on only a few of those. Romance, drama and music. I have definitely seen a lot of romances, whether it was funny, dramatic or consisted of both. With the music genre, just listening to the amazing songs from some shows I’ve seen like K-On! and Love Live!, makes me really enjoy that genre.
With that, I stumbled upon this show:
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, or in English, Your Lie in April (2014) is a music-based romantic drama made by A-1 Pictures who also created very popular shows like Sword Art Online, Fairy Tail and AnoHana.
I have no knowledge about this show other than it’s the genres that I enjoy and that it’s apparently really good so I’ll be going off MyAnimeList’s synopsis:
Music accompanies the path of the human metronome, the prodigious pianist Kousei Arima. But after the passing of his mother, Saki Arima, Kousei falls into a downward spiral, rendering him unable to hear the sound of his own piano.
Two years later, Kousei still avoids the piano, leaving behind his admirers and rivals, and lives a colorless life alongside his friends Tsubaki Sawabe and Ryouta Watari. However, everything changes when he meets a beautiful violinist, Kaori Miyazono, who stirs up his world and sets him on a journey to face music again.
Based on the manga series of the same name, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso approaches the story of Kousei’s recovery as he discovers that music is more than playing each note perfectly, and a single melody can bring in the fresh spring air of April.
Alright, sounds interesting. I have definitely seen this concept before, a person who used to play an instrument or used to sing, lost the passion to due to losing something precious. They then find someone or something that makes them go back to doing what they loved to do.
Let’s take a look at the show’s opening:
The opening theme sounds pretty damn good from start to finish. After listening to that, my expectations have increased for the music aspect of this show. Other than that, I could see some possibly jealousy between this group of four friends and maybe rivalry with some other young musicians? I don’t want to spoil myself or you if you also haven’t watched it so I’ll stop here.
In conclusion, I expect some romantic relationship creating between the main characters, some dramatic aspects between characters and some great music. I really want to start this show and probably will soon if I don’t forget about it.
