Yousoro and welcome back to the 30 Day Anime Challenge on the Alfredeo Blog! This segment is where I discuss the different topics from the list above and share my, hopefully, interesting thoughts on them.

I would like to say that this is opinion based. Please do not make rude comments about my thoughts, instead please leave your opinion in the comments down below and I would be happy to read it!

To be honest, this was a bit hard to choose since I don’t particularly remember much about the supporting characters in anime after I watch it but, here we go.

**Alright, if you have not watched Your Name. or in Japanese, Kimi no Na wa, and you WANT to, I highly suggest you should not continue on with this post because I’m going to give off some really big spoilers. I warned you.***

Katsuhiko Teshigawara, or goes by his nickname, Tessie, from the feature film, Your Name. has to be my most memorable and pretty important supporting male character.

Mitsuha’s friend from school, he’s the chill and nice guy in that group of friends. He also relates to Mitsuha very much because of both their fathers being in the same political campaign, where there can be some embarrassment and their fathers telling them what to do all the time.

Towards the end of the movie, when Mitsuha tells him and Sayaka that the comet will crash into Itomori, the town that they live in, they surprisingly are supportive of her and go as far as to help Mitsuha in her mission to save the citizens of Itomori.

Due to his experience working at his father’s workplace, he planned to set explosions at the area where they get all their energy, but he also suggested to Mitsuha that she absolutely should convince her father, the mayor of the town at that point, that everyone in Itomori be evacuated.

5 years later, Tessie would then start dating Sayaka, which I think is an awesome couple.

To sum it up, Tessie is a dedicated and very, very supportive friend. Because of being relatable to Mitsuha and their fathers can be harsh on them, he had a great impact towards the end of the movie. Tessie, while he wasn’t very sure if he should listen to Mitsuha and help save the people in their town, he thought quick and agreed to save their town. What’s significant is that Tessie actually liked this unique town, he even said that he would stay when he graduated high school, so that might’ve been a great factor on why he wanted to help save Itomori. Also, he told Mitsuha to convince her father to evacuate everyone out of the area, which if he didn’t tell her to do that, who knows what would’ve happened to Itomori.

In conclusion, Tessie is definitely my most memorable male supporting character in anime. I thought of other male supporting characters but he has to take the cake.
